"It is an honor to be selected to serve..."
Kappa Kappa Psi provides service in many forms around the School of Music at
West Chester University. During the fall marching band season, Kappa, along with our sisters in Tau Beta
Sigma, help distribute water, load pit equipment, sort uniforms, and ready the field for rehearsals.
Other highly visible aspects of Kappa's service are receptions help after most major ensemble performances.
This includes securing a room for the reception, and serving punch, cookies, crackers, chips, and other
refreshments to the performers and audience of the concert.
Less visibly, Kappa works behind the scenes of the School of Music, setting up stands and chairs for all band
rehearsals, tearing down risers and chairs after concerts, sorting and collecting music; in general, doing what
needs to be done to keep Swope Hall functioning.
Outside of the music school, Kappa Kappa Psi has participated in Adopt-a-Highway, worked at an adult day care center
outside West Chester, and helping to keep the community cleaner is some sections of the town. While service is a
major calling for a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, this, combined with a pleasant social aspect make the chapter at
West Chester University respected and gives the individual members a bond that defines the Fraternity.
